Udupi’s total in COVID cross 2000
Udupi, July 18: With 109 new COVID cases on Saturday, Udupi district crossed the 2,000 mark.
The total number of positives in the district is 2088. Of this 1,586 have been treated and discharged and 499 are active cases. The district has recorded a total of 10 deaths and one positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.
The increase of positive in Udupi district seems to have slowed down. It had crossed 1,000 mark (total 1005) on June 13. It has now doubled in over one month.
However, the speed of the increase in number is more in Dakshina Kannada. In less than a week, the number doubled in Dakshina Kannada district. The total number of positive in Dakshina Kannada has already crossed 3,000.
Of the positives 58 are from Udupi Taluk, 40 from Kundapur and 11 from Karkala.
