Sunday evening rain leads to ₹1.3 lakh loss in Udupi district
Udupi: A house was damaged and three cattle killed in Sunday’s thundershowers in Udupi district.
Many parts of coastal districts received good rains accompanied by thunder on Saturday.
Officials said that the house of one Amani Poojarthi of Balkudru village in Brahmavar Taluk was damaged due to lightning. The estimated loss is about Rs 30 thousand.
Two cattle and a calf of Santhosh Shetty, a resident of Hengavalli in Kundapur Taluk died due to lightening. The loss is estimated to be around Rs 1,00,000.
Kundapur recorded the highest rainfall with 74.7 mm rainfall followed by Udupi which recorded 57.1 mm. Karkala Taluk recorded 38.5 mm rainfall.
The average rainfall in the district was 59.2 mm.
