COVID positive cases cross 100 in Udupi
Udupi: With 32 new cases on Monday, the Udupi district has crossed the mark of 100 positive cases.
The district which was in the green zone about 10 days ago now has 104 active cases. The district has recorded a total of 108 positive cases.
Though 28 out of 32 are those who returned from Mumbai and two are from Dubai, the concerning issue is the other two cases where the source is yet to be found.
An employee at Zilla Panchayat who had been to the hospital for fever and was diagnosed with Influenza-Like Illness (ILI). The 30-year-old patient (P-2167) tested positive on Monday.
Meanwhile a Head constable too tested positive on Monday.
It may be recollected that three constables tested positive on Sunday in the Udupi district.

“Of the 32, 10 are women, 12 men, and 10 children. All have been sent to the designated hospital for treatment,” he said.
In Dakshina Kannada district four tested positives including one person (P-2175) who died on May 23.
The deceased hails from Belthangady. As he had been to a hospital in Belthangady for treatment a few days ago, before being admitted at Wenlock district hospital, the employees of the hospital have been quarantined. The source of this case is yet to be identified.
The other three had returned from Maharashtra and are under quarantine.
A person who had come from Maharashtra and quarantined tested positive in Uttara Kannada.
