Udupi: With 27, including 16 children positive cases, Wednesday’s mid-day bulletin came as a shock to the people of Udupi.

The mid-day bulletin mentions 116 positive cases in Karnataka including 27 from Udupi, 7 from Uttara Kannada, and 6 from Dakshina Kannada.

As two from Udupi are under quarantine in Sirsi the bulletin shows them in Uttara Kannada list. (Thus as per the bulletin Udupi has 25 and Uttara Kannada has 9 cases).

Udupi DC G Jagadeesha said that all 27 are from other states and are under quarantine. Sixteen of them are children.

“Of the 27 positive, 23 are from Maharasthra, three from Telangana and one patient from Kerala who is under treatment at KMC Manipal,” the DC said.

“Out of 27 two are under quarantine in Sirsi in Uttara Kannada and thus they are shifted to COVID Hospital in Karwar,” the DC added.
