Deceased person’s swab report awaited  

Mangaluru: With the death of one more COVID-19 patient, the toll has increased to 5 in Dakshina Kannada district.

The 80-year-old COVID-19 patient from Kulashekhara who was under treatment at Wenlock district hospital died at 5.30 am on Thursday. Mentioning the death, the afternoon bulletin stated that she died due to Septic Shock.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said that P-507 was suffering from stroke and under treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru from March 15 to April 26. She tested COVID-19 positive on April 26 and shifted to Wenlock district hospital.

DC said that the X-Ray report did not show any pneumonia symptoms in the lungs. The patient suffered from internal bleeding and did not respond to treatment.

She died on May 14 at 5.30 am. The throat swab was sent for testing on May 13 and the result is awaited.
