Uttara Kannada decides to give temporary permit for sand removal
Karwar: Sand removal would shortly resume in Uttara Kannada district.
Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner K Harish Kumar who is also the head of district CRZ committee said that the temporary permit would be given to remove sand from Sharavathi, Aghanashini, and the Gangavali Rivers.
The Karnataka State Forest, Environment and Ecology Department had given clearance to remove dunes from these rivers on March 12.
Following this, the seven-member CRZ Committee held a meeting on Monday and decided to give the temporary permit.
