COVID-19 testing lab to be set up in Karwar shortly
Karwar, April 15: A COVID-19 test lab would shortly be set up at Karwar.
“The Health department has permitted Uttara Kannada district to set up COVID-19 test lab at Karwar Medical College,” Deputy Commissioner Dr. Harish Kumar K told The Canara Post.
“We will set up the lab shortly and it will pacify most of our apprehensions,” the DC said.
Uttara Kannada has recorded 10 COVID-19 positive cases. All were from Bhatkal Town. Seven have been cured and discharged from INHS Patanjali Hospital- Karwar.
At present, there are only three COVID-19 patients under treatment. Two at Pathanjali and one, (the five months pregnant) at Udupi.
All the cured patients are at the Bhatkal facility quarantine center.
The DC clarified that there would be no relaxation for any reason at the Bhatkal cluster until further order.
