Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected along Karnataka Coast
Udupi, July 15, 2023: Fishermen have been advised against venturing into the sea as squally weather with wind speeds of 40-45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, is expected along the Karnataka Coast from July 17 to 19. The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a warning regarding rough sea conditions during this period.
Meanwhile, the region is likely to experience heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over the coming days.
The weather forecast for the next five days is as follows:
Day 1: Until 8.30 am of July 16
- Heavy rain (64.5mm to 115.5 mm) is expected at isolated places in all districts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in the region.
Day 2: Until 8.30 am of July 17
- Similar weather conditions are anticipated, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms predicted across all districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Day 3:Until 8.30 am of July 18
- Isolated places in all districts of Coastal Karnataka are expected to witness heavy rainfall.
- Gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are likely at isolated places.
Day 4: Until 8.30 am of July 19
- Heavy rainfall is forecasted at isolated places across all districts of Coastal Karnataka.
- Gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are expected at isolated places.
Day 5Until 8.30 am of July 20
- Isolated places in all districts of Coastal Karnataka are likely to experience heavy rainfall.
