New Quarantine policy for Udupi
Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said that the district administration has been given the authority to interchange Home Quarantine and institutional Quarantine.
He was speaking at a press conference in Zilla Panchayat on Wednesday.
“The Gram Panchayat has been advised to keep track of those who come to Quarantine. A team of 3 has been appointed to oversee the village. They should visit the house daily and submit reports every day,” the DC said.
He added that there are two institutional quarantine centers dedicated to each taluk. There is also an option for hotel quarantine for those who need it.
Health Department personnel have been instructed to do a Pulse Oximeter reading. If oxygen deficiency is found in children under 10 years, pregnant women, and senior citizens, they would be hospitalized.
“The Deputy Commissioner has been given the authority to approve the passes applied through Seva Sindhu for those who come from Maharastra. They can opt for the date. Those who come from other states should submit their complete details at the 7 reporting centers in the district,” he added.
No need to panic about schools that serve as Quarantine centers:
“In some places schools were converted as quarantine centers. The students and parents need not worry. All necessary steps have been taken to sanitize the rooms. The rooms will be sanitized and cleaned three days before the exams start and after each exam,” the DC assured.
Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu and SP Vishnuvardhan were present at the press conference.
