Dakshina Kannada: Nipah scare blown away
Mangaluru, Sept 15, 2021: In a major relief, the 25-year-old person from Karwar whose samples were sent to NIE lab in Pune has tested negative for Nipah.
The person was admitted to Wenlock District Hospital in Mangaluru after he suspected Nipah virus symptoms.
The samples were sent to the Pune-based National Institute of Virology (NIV). “The patient has tested negative,” Dakshina Kannada DHO told reporters.
Dakshina Kannada district administration is on high alert after Nipah cases were reported in neighboring Kerala last month.
