Mangaluru, May 26, 2021: The symbolic ‘Ratotsava,’ of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha of Samputa Narasimha Matha, Kukke Subrahmanya was held today.
While the deity is taken on the Chariot every year during the Ratotsavam, this year due to Covid and Lockdown restriction, the event was held symbolically.
The celebration had started on Sri Narasimha Jayanthi- yesterday.
The notable feature of the second-day celebration is the worship of the Mahabharatha Manuscript. The Tulu script Mahabharatha Manuscript is placed in front of the deity and offered Pooja.
“Today is Poornima and Sri Vedavyasa is offered special Pooja today as per our tradition. Mahabharatha manuscript is therefore worshipped along with the deity. Every year the manuscript is placed along with the deity on the Chariot too. This is a special tradition here,” Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Sripadaru told The Canara Post.
The manuscript is also offered pooja during Navarathri.
Tottilu Pooje was held at night. The Narasimha Jayanthi celebration will conclude tomorrow with ‘Avabrtha Snana.’
