Govt releases ₹ 1 crore for Kambala
Mangaluru, March 18, 2021: The state government has issued order releasing ₹ 1 crore for Kambala events in Coastal Karnataka.
Kambala – the buffalo race on slush is the traditional game of Coastal Karnataka.
The state government has declared to provide ₹ 5 lakh each to 10 Kambalas in Dakshina Kannada and 10 in Udupi district. This would sum up to ₹ 1 crore.
The money would be released by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation.
Tourism Minister C P Yogeeshwara had visited Dakshina Kannada district a few days ago. He had also participated in a Kambala event and had assured to provide ₹ 5 lakh to each Kambala. Within few days the Minister had fulfilled his assurance.
