Elderly woman gets timely treatment at Kateel
Gets treatment at Durga Sanjeevani Manipal (DSM) and Kasturba Hospital
Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2021: A 75-year-old woman who suffered a heart attack at Kateel Temple was provided timely treatment. Thanks to the medical service by Durga Sanjeevani Manipal (DSM) and Kasturba Hospital. She has recovered and will be discharged tomorrow.
“An elderly woman, Bheemavva Bai from Savadatti had come to Kateel on January 23. She was in the temple during the afternoon pooja when she complained of chest pain. She was immediately taken to the nearby DSM Hospital,” Kateel Temple hereditary archak Sri Harinarayanadasa Asranna told The Canara Post.
“The doctors who diagnosed her got to know about the heart attack. She was immediately shifted to KMC- Mangaluru where she underwent angioplasty. All this was done immediately. She is being treated by Dr. Padmanabha Kamath,” he added.
Bheemavva has recovered and will be discharged tomorrow. She was provided treatment under BPL scheme.
Durga Sanjeevani Manipal (DSM) multi-specialty hospital, started about two years ago, is serving the villagers in and around Kateel who otherwise had to travel to Mangaluru.
The DSM hospital is a joint venture of Dr. Suresh Rao, a well-known general surgeon from Mumbai who started the Sanjeevani Charitable Trust (SCT) at Mumbai, Kateel Shree Durga Parameshwari Temple Trust, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
