Karnataka withdraws night curfew
Bengaluru, Dec 24, 2020: A day after it announced night curfew, the state government withdrew the order on Thursday.
As per the order the night curfew was to come to force from today night till Jan 2. But night curfew has been withdrawn even before it was implemented.
The state government had imposed a night curfew on Wednesday following concern over the new strain of COVID-19. Guidelines were also issued by the government.
This order had come under serious criticism. Now within a day the state government had withdrawn the night curfew order.
News agency PTI quoted Karnataka CM B S Yediyurappa stating that night curfew in state was withdrawn after cabinet colleagues and senior officials opined it was not needed.
