Udupi to Celebrate 78th Independence Day
Udupi, August 12, 2024: The Udupi District Administration is set to celebrate the 78th Independence Day with a grand event on August 15. The district-level celebration will take place at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium in Ajjarkadu, starting at 8:30 AM.
The flag hoisting ceremony will be conducted at 9:00 AM by Lakshmi R Hebbalkar, Minister for Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, who is also the district in-charge minister. She will deliver the Independence Day message to the public. The event will be presided over by MLA Yashpal A. Suvarna.
Prominent dignitaries including Members of Parliament B.Y. Raghavendra and Kota Srinivas Poojari, MLAs V. Sunil Kumar, Gururaj Shetty Gantihole, A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi,, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Members of the Legislative Council S.L. Bhojegowda, Manjunath Bhandari, and Dr. Dhananjay Sargi.
Other key officials expected to participate include Satyavathi G., District In-charge Secretary; Dr. K. Vidyakumari, Deputy Commissioner of Udupi; Prateek Boyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat; and Dr. Arun K., Superintendent of Police, Udupi.
