Enrollment Opens for Manipal Arogya Card 2024: Quality Healthcare for the Whole Family
Manipal, 18th June 2024: The Manipal Arogya Card 2024 enrolment has officially begun, announced Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro-Chancellor of MAHE, Manipal. Dr. Ballal paid tribute to the late Dr. T.M.A. Pai, a visionary in Indian healthcare, highlighting the card’s mission to provide quality healthcare at an affordable cost. “Dr. Pai’s dedication to society is unparalleled. It gives me immense pleasure to announce the start of this year’s enrolment,” he remarked.
The Manipal Arogya Card, with the tagline “For the Whole Family, Great Value, Trusted Care,” offers comprehensive healthcare benefits. Initiated in 2000 by Dr. Ramadas Pai, Chancellor of MAHE, the card aims to make healthcare accessible at reduced costs. The scheme was expanded in 2018 to include a two-year card, offering greater flexibility and value.
Dr. Sharath K Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor (Health Sciences) of MAHE, outlined the card’s growth from the undivided Dakshina Kannada district to over 12-15 districts in coastal and central Karnataka, as well as neighboring states Kerala and Goa. Since going digital in 2019, the scheme is moving towards becoming entirely card-less. Over the past 23 years, the Manipal Arogya Card has provided discounted high-quality healthcare to millions, with 360,000 members enrolled in 2023 alone. At Kasturba Hospital Manipal, 52% of OP patients and nearly 20% of IP patients benefit from the card, resulting in discounts totaling approximately ₹16 crores.

Manipal Arogya Cardholders enjoy significant discounts: 50% on consultation fees with specialist and super-specialist doctors, 25% on diagnostics and lab investigations, 20% on radiology investigations, OPD procedures, and diabetic foot care, ₹100/- on dialysis, up to 10% on medicines from hospital pharmacies, and 25% on inpatient bills in the General Ward.
