CFI demands Govt Medical College in Dakshina Kannada
Mangaluru, Sept 30, 2021: Demanding a government medical college in Dakshina Kannada, the Campus Front of India (CFI) activists submitted a memorandum to Bantwal Tahshildar on Thursday.
“Medical Education is just a dream for the poor students. Corporates run most of the hospitals and medical colleges in the district. The district neither has a government multispeciality hospital nor a government medical college,” the memorandum stated.
“In the private colleges, the seats are filled before admission begins. The education sector has turned to be a business. There is a need for a government medical college in the district,” it added.
As part of the massive campaign for a medical college in the district, the Campus Front of India Bantwal Committee met the Tahsildar and submitted the memorandum.
Mangaluru Rural unit president Sharfuddin Bajpe, Moodabidri unit president Nabeel, Secretary Rayif Handel, Irshad were present.
