Karwar AC visits flood-hit Sulgeri village
Karwar, Aug 05, 2021: Karwar Assistant Commissioner Vidyashree Chandaragi and her team visited the flood-hit Sulgeri village of Joida taluk.
Sulgeri village had suffered major damage due to the flood few days ago. The flood had changed the path of the rivulet. Sand and trees were deposited on the agricultural land. The Canara Post had reported about the village last week.

On Wednesday Vidyashri visited the village and found that the silt deposits prevented the free flow of water. This in turn had affected the houses and agricultural land. She directed the Joda division Panchayat Raj Executive Engineer to clear them by using the necessary machinery.
She also spoke to the people about their problems, collected details about the damage to their houses and on the help and relief work provided. The flood-affected were suggested to stay at the temporary relief centers.
The AC also asked the Karwar Depot head to resume the Karwar-Sulgeri bus service.
