Mangaluru, July 31, 2021: With Covid cases not slowing down in Dakshina Kannada, the district administration has imposed new fresh restrictions to arrest the spurts.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V has issued an order after consulting the elected representatives and the District Disaster Management Committee.

  • All KSRTC and private buses between Mangaluru and Kasargod will be suspended from August 1 to 7.
  • For the students, employees, and those who travel to Dakshina Kannada from Kasargod for work, the negative RTPCR report, which is not older than 72 hours, is needed. It will be allowed for 7 days. They should have a negative certificate even if they have taken two doses of vaccines.
  • The nursing, paramedical students from Kerala, Maharashtra, and other states should come with negative RT-PCR not older than 72 hours and undergo compulsory quarantine for one week and then have a Covid test again.
  • Those who arrive from the train without an RT-PCR test will be tested at the Railway Station. If found positive they will be taken to Covid Care Center.
  • The Sub Divisional Officers and Deputy Superintendent of Police of the respective jurisdiction should frequently supervise the checkposts.
  • The restrictions will not be for the medical emergency service, ambulances, and inter-state goods movement.
  • All social, political, cultural, and religious programs and celebrations have been banned.
  • Fifty people can gather for the wedding. Prior permission is needed from the local administration. The PDOs and revenue officials should visit the program and ensure guidelines are followed.
  • ‘Jatre,’ religious celebrations and processions are banned at Temples, Mosques, Churches, and Gurdwaras.

For those coming from Kerala and Maharashtra

Mangaluru, July 31, 2021: Karnataka government has made RT-PCR negative certificate mandatory for people who want to enter from Kerala and Maharashtra. The report is mandatory even who have taken both the doses of Covid vaccine.

The government has made it clear that the report of the traveler should not be older than 72 hours. For the students, employees, and those who travel to Karnataka from Kerala, the RTPCR test is mandatory once in 15 days.

The Circular states:

  • Those entering Karnataka from Kerala and Maharashtra should have an RT-PCR report even if they have taken both doses of Covid vaccination. The report should not be older than 72 hours.
  • The report is necessary for traveling by road, flight and train.
  • The boarding pass will be issued only to those who produce the certificate.
  • Railways have the responsibility of ensuring those who travel to Karnataka from these states have the negative certificate.
  • In the case of buses, the respective conductor holds the responsibility of ensuring the travelers have the negative certificate.
  • Those who travel to Karnataka from Kerala daily for education, office work, business, and other reasons should undergo the RTPCR test once in 15 days and hold the negative certificate.
  • The Deputy Commissioners of the bordering districts have the responsibility to put up a checkpost for this.

Relaxation:

  • For the constitutional functionaries, doctors, and medical staff.
  • Children below 2 years
  • Those who travel on emergency reasons (death of a family member, medical reasons, and others) from Kerala to Karnataka. Their samples will be collected in Karnataka. Their names and details will be collected. Based on the report necessary action will be taken.
