 INS Talwar arrives at Mangaluru Port with first consignment of liquid medical oxygen

Karwar, May 05, 2021: INS Talwar arrived at New Mangalore Port with 40 MT of liquid medical oxygen today.
Indian Navy has actively involved itself in the fight against COVID in the country.

It has launched Operation Samudra Setu II, for shipment of liquid medical oxygen-filled cryogenic containers and associated medical equipment from Indian Ocean Region neighbors.

INS Talwar, was one of the first ships to be diverted for this task. The ship picked up 40 MT of Liquid Medical Oxygen in two cryogenic tanks and entered New Mangalore today.

The liquid oxygen containers were contributed by the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 30 to support India’s fight against Covid.

Additional Indian Navy ships are scheduled to arrive at Indian ports carrying liquid oxygen and other critical medical supplies in the coming days thereby strengthening the nation’s fight against COVID 19.
