 BSY announces 14-day ‘strict measures,’

Bengaluru, April 26, 2021: Considering the steep increase in the COVID cases, the Karnataka government has declared 14-day ‘tough measures,’ throughout the state from Tuesday night.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa who did not prefer to name it as ‘lockdown,’ or ‘curfew,’ said that the state government would take strict measures to curb COVID in the state.

“Necessary supplies will be open from 6 am to 10 am. Later people should close the shops. However manufacturing sector (except garments), construction and agriculture sector will not be affected. Their activities will continue in addition to medical and essential services,” BSY said.

He added that the night curfew from 9 pm to 6 am would continue.

“All the Deputy Commissioners should take action for necessary bandobast. Tahsildars should be nodal officers and ensure that COVID does not spread in their area,” he said.
