Karwar, March 21, 2021: A 3 year old male leopard was found dead on railway track at Chendiya village of Karwar Taluk on Saturday afternoon.

As soon as the news was conveyed to the forest department, officials led by Deputy Conservator of Forest Vasanth Redd K V, Assistant Conservator Sharan Kumar, Range Officer J V Naik, and others visited the spot. Post Mortem of the dead leopard was conducted.

As there has been many cases of wild animals like leopard, wild boar, sambar deer are found dying on the railway track, the forest department has proposees to write to the Konkan Railway on the measures that can be taken to prevent such incidents.
