Siddaramaiah inaugurates ‘Janadhwani’ Padayatra in Udupi
Udupi, Feb 22, 2021: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah blamed BJP for spreading communal hatred in Coastal Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah was in Udupi to inaugurate the Janadhwani Padayatra from Hejamady to Byndoor organized by the Congress party. The Padayatra
“This was a place where many religions coexisted peacefully but BJP
has now changed it into an experimental ground to spew communal hatred,” he alleged.
“Only BJP and RSS are responsible for the tense situation in Dakshina Kannada. Kuvempu’s idea of Vishvamanava should be a guiding light for all. It enlightens people about the idea of secularism & equality,” he said.
Siddaramaiah blamed the BJP for engaging in dividing the society in the name of religion.
“They are the perfect example for the idea of ‘Alpamanava’ he said.
Siddaramaiah also alleged that none from RSS died in the Independence movement.
“BJP should recollect the Indian Independence movement. Thousands of Congress leaders sacrificed their lives but there is nobody from RSS,” he said.
The former Chief Minister who had initiated the Anna Bhagya Scheme for the poor expressed his anger over the BJP government for reducing the rice quantity.
“BJP government has snatched away the food from poor people by reducing Anna Bhagya rice to 3Kg. I am very confident that Congress will win the next elections with a majority and come to power in the state. We will then provide 10kg of free rice to everyone,” he declared.
He alleged that the manufacturing sector has reached rock bottom due to the policies of the BJP.
“More than 50,000 families in Dakshina Kannada, who were dependent on the Beedi industry, have lost livelihood. What has the government done about this?” he questioned.
