COVID vaccine consignment reaches Mangaluru
Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2021: A consignment of 42,500 doses of COVID vaccine reached Mangaluru today morning.
Senior officer Dr. B V Rajesh told reporters in Mangaluru that the vaccination arrived from Bengaluru via Mysuru today morning and will be stored at the Regional Vaccination Store in Mangaluru.
Of the 42,500, Dakshina Kannada’s share is 24,500 doses. Udupi and Chikkamgaluru will get 12,000 and 6,000 respectively.
“The officials of these districts have been informed and will take the vaccination today,” he said.
In Dakshina Kannada arrangements have been done to send the vaccination to the 6 session sights where the vaccination will be provided on January 16.
The six places include Wenlock District Hospital, Urban Primary Health Center at Surathkal, and four Taluk Hospitals (Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, and Sullia).
The district also has enough supply of disposable syringe which will be sent to the vaccination centers along with the vaccination.
The government has decided to provide vaccination to the healthcare sector on January 16.
