Navy Week 2020: Community outreach by Karnataka Naval Area
Karwar: As a part of Navy Week 2020 activities, the Sparsh group of Naval Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), Karwar in coordination with Naval Ship Repair Yard (KAR), participated in community outreach activities for the welfare of daily wage workers of INS Kadamba.
The activity aimed to reach out to underprivileged section integral to the Naval Community, who have continued to put in relentless efforts even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this gesture of goodwill and gratitude from Naval Community, items of daily needs were distributed amongst the workers and their families by members of the Sparsh team of NWWA Karwar, led by President NWWA(KAR) Mrs Manita Singh.
The activity coincided with the 15th Anniversary of Naval Ship Repair Yard (KAR). Yard employees distributed grocery kits including cereals, pulses and cooking oil to the needy at their homes in and around Karwar to mark the occasion.
