Mangaluru, Oct 27: It was harvest time. With great enthusiasm, the volunteers and temple administration of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple participated in the Paddy harvest at the Moola Kudru.

‘Bhramarivana’ or Moola Kudru at Kateel is the original place where the Bramarambike is said to have killed the demon king Arunasura. Situated amidst the two streams of Nandini, behind the Kateel temple, this place has a small temple.

The temple administration sowed paddy in a small area here. This is the first time the temple has ventured into growing paddy here. The paddy crop had grown well and on Tuesday was harvested.

“We will use the paddy for Dhanyapooja during Deepavali. We want to grow paddy here every year and use it for ‘Puddar,’ (Hosa akki oota or harvest festival) and also Dhanya Pooje during Deepavali,” temple hereditary archak Sriharinarayanadasa Asranna told The Canara Post.
