Milk van with beef seized, one arrested

Mangaluru, Oct 13: Police arrested a person and seized beef from a milk van in Mangaluru City on Tuesday morning.

According to sources, based on information, activists of Hindu outfits tried to stop a milk van which was coming from Pumpwell on Tuesday morning. When the driver did not stop, the activists followed it and informed the police.

On reaching Hampankatta circle, the driver stopped the milk van. Police said that about half quintal of beef that were concealed in the milk tray. The exact weight of the beef is yet to be ascertained.

A case is registered at Bunder Police station. One person was arrested in connection to the case.
