Karnataka Bank former Chairman Ananthakrishna no more

Mangaluru, Oct 11: Karnataka Bank Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ananthakrishna (74) passed away in Mangaluru on Sunday.

He had served as the Chairman and CEO from 2000 to 2009. From 2009 to 2016 he served as the Non-Executive Chairman.

Ananthakrishna was suffering from age-related health problems. He is survived by wife and a son.

He hails from Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district. After basic education at his home town, Ananthakrishna did his graduation from St Aloysius College. He is an MSc (Mathematics) holder from Mysuru University.

After a short span in the teaching profession, Ananthakrishna joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and in 1971 joined as an officer in Karnataka Bank Ltd.

Recollecting his contributions to the banking sector, Karamballi Vala Brahmana Samithi, in a message, has condoled the death of Ananthakrishna.
