 Red alert continues in Coastal Karnataka

Mangaluru, Aug 05: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has continued the red alert with a forecast of extremely heavy rain at isolated places in all the three Coastal Karnataka districts till Friday morning.
Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have been receiving heavy rainfall accompanied by strong wind since Monday evening. 
In the forecast, IMD has warned rainfall most likely at many places with heavy to extremely very heavy rainfall (more than 204.5 mm) at isolated places in all the three coastal districts on Thursday. 
The satellite image shows fewer clouds in Karnataka coast indicating that the rainfall is likely to decrease tomorrow. 
Warning for fishermen: 
Strong wind / squally weather with speed reaching 50-60 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Karnataka coast.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
