It is likely to be partial cloudy day in most parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. There are possibilities of thunder and lightning accompanied by light showers in some parts of the region, especially in the foothills of Western Ghats at evening or night.
Low pressure area over Arabian sea:
The Low pressure area exists over West-Central Arabian Sea and associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid tropospheric level. It is very likely to concentrate into a depression over the same region during next 48 hours.
It is likely to move North-Westwards towards South Oman and East Yemen coast during next 72 hours.
The cyclonic circulation persists at 5.8 km above mean sea level over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Maldives area. 
Weather would remain seasonal over rest Arabian Sea.

Special Weather Warning

In view of likely development of a low pressure area over southeast and adjoining east central Arabian Sea around 31st May, Fishermen are advised to avoid deep sea fishing activity over the region during May 31 to June 04, 2020. IMD is monitoring the situation and further developments will be updated periodically.
Day 1(29.05.2020): Strong wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over westcentral, northeast & southwest Arabian Sea and over Gulf of Mannar. Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over southeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea and north Bay of Bengal.
Day 2(30.05.2020): Strong wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over West-Central, northeast & southwest Arabian Sea. Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph likely to prevail over southeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea and north Bay of Bengal.
