Private vehicle movement restricted in Dakshina Kannada district
Finding uncontrolled movement of private vehicles even during LockDown, the Dakshina Kannada district administration has taken strict steps to put an end to the chaos.
In Mangaluru City Police limits the movement of all the private vehicle has been banned.
“For day to day purchase, we request the people to go to the groceries and vegetables to the shops near their house. If there is any medical emergency then people can contact 108,” Police Commissioner Dr. P S Harsha said in a press communique.
“Those doctors, nurses, and paramedics who want to travel between their house and hospital can do so by showing their IDs. If anybody has any specific requirement then they have to apply to the Assistant Commissioner and take the necessary pass,” he added.
In District Police limits, during the relaxation period between 7 am to 11 pm, there is a ban with some restrictions.
As people travel from villages to towns for the needs, two-wheelers would be allowed. But there is total ban on private four wheelers. People can hie rickshaws or jeeps to bring their daily needs. However, the hired vehicle should have only two persons- the driver and the person who has hired the vehicle, Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad said.
