Low pressure area in Arabian Sea: Widespread heavy rain and thundershowers likely

The Low Pressure Area over Southeast and adjoining East central Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area now lies as Well Marked Low Pressure area over the same region.
It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over East-Central & adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea during next 12 hours and likely to intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm over East central Arabian Sea during the subsequent 24 hours.
It is very likely to move nearly northwards initially till 02nd June morning and recurve north-northeastwards thereafter and reach near north Maharashtra and south Gujarat coasts around June 03rd.
As a result Karnataka and Kerala coast are likely to receive widespread rain and thundershowers.

Day 2(02.06.2020): Gale wind, speed reaching 65-75 kmph gusting to 85 kmph over East central Arabian Sea and along & off Karnataka, south Maharashtra coast. Sea conditions are very likely to be Very Rough to High over East central & adjoining southeast Arabian Sea and along & off
Karnataka-south Maharashtra coasts.

High waves in the range of 2.5 – 3.8 meters are likely during 5:30 pm on May 31 to to 11:30 pm of June 02 along the coast of Karnataka from Mangalore to Karwar.
High waves in the range of 3.0 – 3.8 meters are likely during 5:30 pm on May 31 to to 11:30 pm of June 02 along the coast of Lakshadweep Islands from Minicoy to Bitra.
High waves in the range of 2.3 – 3.5 meters are likely during 5:30 pm on May 31 to to 11:30 pm of June 02 along the coast of Kerala from Pozhiyoor to Kasargod.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the period mentioned
