Heavy rain in isolated places likely during next five days

Udupi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain in isolated places exceeding 65 mm in Coastal Karnataka during next five days.
In the five day alert valid till 8.30 am of June 23, the IMD has stated that heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall shall exceed 65 mm in these places.
Meanwhile till June 20, thunderstorms accompanied with lightening likely to occur at isolated places over the three districts of Coastal Karnataka.
Nowcast issued by Meteorological Centre- Bengaluru at 1.30 pm:Thunderstorm accompanied moderate to heavy spells of rain likely to affect Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Kodagu districts in next three hours.
Warning for fishermen:
Squally weather with wind speed occasionally reaching 45-55kmph
likely to prevail along &off Karnataka Coast.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
Special weather warning:
Day 1(18.06.2020) to Day 5(22.06.2020): Strong wind with speed reaching 50-60 kmph is likely to prevail over Southwest and Westcentral Arabian Sea; Strong wind with speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail over Eastcentral Arabian Sea.
Day 1(18.06.2020): Squally weather with wind speed 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail over Karnataka – Goa- Maharashtra coast.
INCOIS WARNING FOR HIGH WAVE ALERT:
High waves in the range of 3.0 – 3.5 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 17-06-2020 to 23:30 hours of 19-06-2020 along the coast of Karnataka from Mangalore to Karwar.
