SSRVM Hosts Bi-Monthly Meeting of AICS
Mangaluru, October 07, 2023: Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir, Mangaluru played host to a momentous gathering on October 4 as over 60 school Principals hailing from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts converged for the bi-monthly meeting organized by the Association of ICSE and CBSE Schools (AICS).
The guests received a traditional Indian welcome, marked by the application of Thilak and the lighting of the Aarthi. A significant aspect of this welcoming ritual involved the use of sandalwood oil, a practice deeply ingrained in Indian culture for its calming and purifying attributes.
The atmosphere was further imbued with a sense of serenity as teachers from SSRVM (Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir) commenced proceedings with a soul-soothing prayer song, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the gathering. This was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by the girls from SSRVM, skillfully weaving together the art form with a message on the significance of yoga and meditation in enhancing overall well-being.
Manmohan Naik KG, the President of AICS, presided over the proceedings.
Dr. M. S Ravi, the President of the Management Committee of Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Mangaluru, and a dedicated Art of Living teacher, shared an insightful session on relaxation techniques, meditation, and breathing exercises. His session was geared towards enhancing the well-being of both educators and students.
Distinguished attendees included Geetha Shashidhar, Secretary of AICS; Fr. Melwyn Lobo SJ, Treasurer of AICS; Fr. Arun D’souza, Sports and Cultural Secretary of Dakshina Kannada; and Vincent, Sports and Cultural Secretary of Udupi.
Post this session, the official AICS meeting was convened.
Discussions revolved around pivotal subjects aligned with the core values of AICS. Topics spanned from academic innovations to the challenges confronted by educational institutions. The exchange of ideas was intellectually stimulating, underscoring the necessity for a unified approach in addressing common issues.
