COVID-19: Eight from Uttara Kannada among 84 positive in Karnataka
Of the eight, seven had returned from Maharashtra and other is from Bhatkal
Karwar: Eight people including seven who returned to Uttara Kannada district from Mumbai tested COVID-19 positive on Monday morning.
In the past few days many people have come to Uttara Kannada district from Maharashtra after the government opened its border to people coming from Maharashtra last week.
Those who arrive are sent directly to the quarantine centers set up in various parts of the district. The swabs in the quarantine centers are sent for testing and on Monday seven of them tested positive.
They will undergo treatment at the COVID unit at Karwar Medical College.
Meanwhile, the 8th patient in the district is a 2-year-old girl child. She is the contact of P-659.
Of the 84 cases, 65 had traveled from Maharashtra!
